Sean Sugrue - IT Technician & Developer

I spent over a decade in hospitality — bartending, managing bars, and learning to solve problems on my feet. When I decided to pivot to tech, I brought those same skills with me: working under pressure, communicating clearly, and figuring things out when the answer isn't obvious.
I started with web development — React, Next.js, the full stack. But I quickly realized I loved the whole picture: not just the code, but the servers it runs on, the networks that connect it, and the hardware that makes it all possible.
Now I'm an IT Technician, still building, still learning, still sharing. Whether it's deploying a web app, setting up a Pi-hole, or troubleshooting a network issue — I love the challenge.
Journey
Transitioned into a hands-on IT role, supporting infrastructure, troubleshooting, and networking.
Intensive learning period: built multiple web apps, self-hosted projects, learned Docker/networking.
Bartender and bar manager. Built problem-solving skills and learned to work with people under pressure.
"We know what we know. We know what we don't know. But we don't know what we don't know."
My superpower is uncovering unknown unknowns. The more I discover, the easier problems become to solve.
